Summer League 2002 - Week 13 Report

The 13th week of the Monday Night League bought some better scores than the previous two weeks but still well short of those seen earlier in the league. Leading the way was Gowks' Rene Murray with a 614 series.
The first teams up were Hitmen & Her and Gutterlevel. Solid performances from Gutterlevel's bowlers resulted in a 15 - 5 point win as Hitmen struggled to find their recent form. The match saw the night's highest game as Gutterlevel's Robin Clarke bowled a 233 game and 600 series.
A depleted Papa's Kids faced Gowks in match two, and it was the the latter who managed a fine 17½ - 2½ point win with the assistance of Rene Murray's 209, 200 and 207 games. Gowks' Barbara Ogrodnik also bowled 200 pins in the third and realised a 554 series.
Match three saw Wasters pitted against the vacancy team and some consistent scores gave them a well deserved 17 - 3 point win. The highest score for the team came from Matthew Heenan with a 201.
The large point differences this week have helped to close the gap a little more, making it an even tighter finish to the competition with only 3 weeks remaining.

Winter League 2002 - Week 1 Report
The start of the Monday Night Winter Tenpin League was a muted affair as uncertainty over the number of teams competing bought some confusion to the proceedings. Things were not helped by a new team, a number of member changes, missing team members, and the Secretary's minor blunder in providing incorrect handicaps for the early session bowlers! Monday night saw the start of the Summer Tenpin Bowling Leagues with the new computer animations causing much amusement amongst the bowlers. Whether due to the heat or the long Jubilee Weekend, the 5th round of the Monday Night Tenpin League bought yet another crop of good scores with last week's nine 200+ games topped by one this week. At the midway point of the Monday Night Summer League the recent run of high scoring games was smashed by a a three-game scratch series of 621 which is going to be difficult to beat.
