Dorothy Budge Memorial Bowling Competition

24th July 2007

Photograph of Dorothy Budge Memorial Bowling Competition

The Dorothy Budge Memorial Bowling Competition was played on Sat 21st July at the Rosebank Bowling green.

Dorothy was a keen bowler and member of the Rosebank Bowling Club.

When she passed away, her family decided to mark her memory by sponsoring an annual competition in her name.

Players names were picked “out of the hat” to make up the teams of two.

The teams were divided into two sections and each section played a “round robin”, with the winners of each section playing in a final.

The final was between the teams of Archie Brown/Brian Harcus and Peter Budge/Tam Mulraine, with Peter and Tam coming out the victors, a pleasing result as Peter is the son of Dorothy, and Tam is the grandson of Dorothy’s sister.

The Photo shows Dorothy’s daughter Avril, 3rd from right, presenting the cup to Tam, 2nd right and Peter, right.

Looking on are, from left, Peter’s wife Moira, and runners up, Brian and
Archie.
