Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side have won the Wick & District Pool League division one championship for an eighth time, and their fifth in succession. The Camps Bar side secured the victory they required against Blackstairs to win the closest title race in the pool leagues history. The champions were two frames away from letting the title slip through their fingers, as they trailed a highly motivated Blackstairs team 4-2 after the singles. An outstanding clearance from Ryan Carter in frame seven, and great tactical play from Martin Hill and Alec Thomson in frame eight helped the Camps side level the match at 4-4.

With their nerves finally settled, the eight time champions won all of the remaining games with Carter & Honeyman winning the all important title winning frame. Steve Atkins Bayview1 side finished runners up in division one again this season, as their 10-2 victory over the Queens was not enough in their attempts to win their first league title. Crown1 defeated the Seaforth Club 8-4 as they finish their season in third place, three points behind the champions. Sinclair Bay's 7-5 win over Commercial means that they will play first division pool next season, with the Queens and Seaforth Club being relegated to division two.

Suzanne Carter's Camps1 side earned the draw they required to win promotion to the top division next season. An outstanding team performance saw them clinch promotion as they went 6-2 up against the Francis Street Club, but the club side done well to win the last four frames to earn a draw.

Perry Campbell's Retro1 team, who secured the division two title many weeks ago, continued their impressive form as they saw off a tough Harper's side with an 8-4 victory. Ronnie Simpson knocked in an 8-ball clearance for Harper's, but it wasnt enough to stop Retro1 from taking all three points. The other match in division two saw Mountain Dew and Crown2 earn a point each after a 6-6 draw. The Seaforth Club will host the 2014 Rockwater Shield Final between Camps2 & Francis Street Club next Monday night.
