Wick & District Pool League's title race saw no changes at the top of the table as Camps2, Bayview1 and Crown1 all recorded 7-4 wins. Camps2 hosted Sinclair Bay on Monday night in an important game for both teams. Ryan Carter and Bruce Honeyman got the defending champions off to a great start with singles wins against Greg Simpson and Jordan Tait respectively. Marc Macgregor and Milky Ronaldson levelled the match at 2-2 thanks to wins over Andy Mcwatt and Martin Hill. Great play in the next two frames from Ian Mcdonald and David Hendry helped the Camps side take a 4-2 lead. The first doubles frame was a long affair which resulted in Carter and Honeyman getting the better of Simspon and Tait in a high quality tactical game. At 5-2 down, Sinclair Bay upped their game and took the next two frames to come within one frame of Camps2, but the comeback was put to rest as Mcwatt potted the black that secured the two points for the Camps side.

The Queens put in a very good performance against Bayview1 as they took the match to 3-3 after the singles. Steve Atkins Lybster side then won all three doubles frames to win the match. Crown1 kept their title hunt on course with another impressive performance as they beat Blackstairs1 7-4.

The Seaforth Club have all but secured a place in the top seven, after an impressive 9-2 win over Bayview2. They face Sinclair Bay next week in what is a very big match for both teams. The Commercial's aim to finish in the top seven is on course as they sit in seventh place thanks to a 7-4 win against Crown2. The Commercial will need a result against Bayview1 next week to make sure of a place in the first division.

Suzanne Carter's Camps1 side got back to winning ways on Monday night after a close battle with the Mountain Dew. The Camps side went 3-1 up early on but were pegged back to 3-3 thanks to some good play from Montain Dew's Callum Reid. The next two frames were shared as the match stood a 4-4, before Carter sunk the black to make it 5-4 to the Camps. In-form player Ciaran Duffy showed off his potting ability in the next frame as Camps2 won the points. Duffy was man of the match as he won all three of his games.

Seaforth Club's George Smith won event two of The Camps Bar Challenge Shield last Saturday after defeating Garry Thorburn 4-0 in the final. Event three takes place in the Camps's Bar on Sunday 24th of February at 1.30pm and is open to anyone who wants to play. You can call the league secretary on 07450993155 to put your name down.
