Caithness Councillors continue to support Scottish National Surfing Championships 2019

Highland Councillors Donnie Mackay, Struan Mackie, Matthew Reiss and Karl Rosie were delighted to provide continued funding support from the Thurso and North West Caithness Ward to the Scottish National Surfing Championships.

The Ward 2 Members contributed £5,000 from their 2018/19 Ward Discretionary Budget to the prestigious championships.

The Scottish National Surfing Championships 2019 recently took place on Easter weekend in Caithness under fantastic sunshine.

Main supporters of the event were EventScotland, The Highland Council and the Caithness Collection hotels. This year the event was officially opened by European Surfing Federation president Huw John.

59 competitors participated in what was one of the best Scottish Surfing Federation events ran with thousands of spectators watching the action over the weekend at Sinclair's Bay and Brims Ness.
