Annual charity golfing competition.
Leading children’s charity Barnardo’s Scotland has teamed up again with the Scottish Ladies Golfing Association (SLGA) for its annual fundraising golf tournament, now in its 15th year.
The charity is appealing to lady golfers in the Highlands to register for the event and tee-off in support of the charity.
A series of competitions are being organised throughout the summer by local golf clubs. The top scorers from the play-offs will go through to the final, to be held at Arbroath Golf Course on Friday 22 August.
Last year the competition raised over £2,000 for Barnardo’s Scotland and this year the SLGA and the charity are hoping for an even better response.
Kara Gillies, Events Manager for Barnardo’s Scotland, said: “There are more than 500 golf clubs in Scotland and we would like to encourage all of the clubs with lady members to take part in the event this year. It’s a great opportunity for Scottish lady golfers to compete with like-minded ladies and raise money to support children and young people across Scotland.”
Golfers interested in taking part in Barnardo’s/SLGA annual golf competition should contact their local golf club, the SLGA on 0131 339 3987 or Kara Gillies on 0131 446 7019, email kara.gillies[AT]barnardos.org.uk
All money raised in Scotland stays in Scotland and goes towards funding community-based services supporting children and young people in the local area.
