Caithness Active Schools Newsletter - 1 September 2010

Over the 6 week summer period Caithness Active schools, incorporating Wick & Thurso areas, committed to offering 2000 places on summer programme activities ranging from the following; Rugby, Athletics, Shinty, Football, Basketball, Highland Games, Golf, Uni Hoc, Ranger Activities, Drama Activities & Circus Skills.

The majority of the activities mentioned above were lead by sport specific development officers / managers that agreed to travel north to provide quality sessions in their specific sports / activities assisted by Active Schools volunteers from both Wick and Thurso.

Just under 800 places were taken up on these activities.

We also provided support to the following organisations contributing to their summer programme activities; Ormlie Community Association, John O’Groats FC as well as the water based activities on offer at Wick / Thurso Swimming pools.
