Caithness Motox - Great Day At Ravenshill
8th March 2009
A fantastic day to be had at Ravenshill on Sunday the 1st of March for Caithness Motocross Club annual Funday. Lots of new faces as well as the old faithfulls, beautiful sunshine and the track was surprisingly dry considering the weather. Twenty eight competitors took part in various categories providing the spectators with some exhilarating riding.
Liam Mackay flew around the track as per usual, taking the lead on his 50cc auto bike, closely followed by new comer Troy Anderson.
A good turnout for the quads, lots of competition, with the usual battle between Jack Duffy and Ben Mackenzie, jostling for first position, Jack taking the lead on the day.
Morgan Robertson improving at every event, showing some of the older boys how it should be done on his 85cc small wheel bike.
It was great to see Kyle Thomson back on form after such a serious accident last summer, racing wheel to wheel with Martin Kirk on their 125cc bikes.
Fearless riding from the adults, providing the best turn out for a long time. Kyle Mackie and Scott Gulloch, returning to racing after a number of years absence, displaying their impressive jumping skills.
Thank you to everyone for their hard work and dedication, without you all, there would be no club. We made 98 on the raffle and the Funday fees covered all costs. As well as the normal bike category races, we staged a few relay races, the younger kids were delighted to ride alongside their older idols.
Round One, the first official event of the season will take place on Sunday the 5th of April at the Ravenshill Track, scrutineering from 9am. For more information, please check out our website at http://www.caithnessmotox.co.uk/ or contact us on [email protected]
