South School Win Liam Henderson Memorial Junior Five-a-side Competition
21st July 2006
In a scene reminiscent of the world Cup the junior five-aside competition ran to a nail biting finish. At the end of the final between South School and Keiss & Canisbay the score stood at 3 - 3. On to penalties and after five shots each the penalty score was 4 - 4. Finally in the sudden death shoot out Keiss & Canisbay missed their next shot to hand victory to South School. The competition was judged to be of a very high standard with some great play in all the matches. From a short list of some fine players Eddie MacGregor was chosen as "man of the match" for the day. Despite the mist that covered Wick today the players had a few fine games and made excellent entertaining football for the spectators. Well done to players and the organisers.
