2006 St Fergus Triples Bowls Hit Another Successful Year

St Fergus bowling club in Wick ran their third successful triples bowls competition at the weekend. 64 triples - 192 bowlers played in the two day competition spread over Thurso, Rosebank and St Fergus bowling greens. Despite the competition being only in its third year it is highly successful with competitors this year coming from Shetland in the north and Essex in the south of England. The winning triple picked up a cheque for �1000 with the runners up receiving �300 along with their trophies. Semi-finalists and plate competition winners received smaller cheques. All agreed the weekend was very enjoyable and many competitors had brought other family members along with them for the weekend adding to the buzz in Wick over the two days.
