Thurso Bowling Club On Top Form

On Sunday, Thurso Bowling Club won the prestigious Northern Counties Bowling Association's Top Ten competition. The top players from clubs around the north have been playing over the last few months in the hope of qualifying to reach the final.

Thurso have reached the final in the previous 2 years, but failed at the final hurdle to lift the trophy. Having won through again this year, home advantage led the club to believe it had a very good chance to succeed at the third attempt in 3 years, and so it proved.

A great game entertained the spectators as Thurso ran out winners by 6points to 2, winning the singles, pairs and rinks but lost out to the triple from Fortrose which was led by a very in-form skip.
