Alan Larnach's Crown1 side have knocked seven times champions Camps2 out in the first round of the Rockwater Shield. The current holders had a mountain to climb after the Crown's outstanding performance in the first leg.
The first round first legs of the 2014/15 Rockwater Shield got underway on Monday night, with Lybster teams Bayview1 and Commercial earning healthy leads to take into next weeks 2nd leg ties. Dale Johnston of The Seaforth Club got his side off to a good start, but George Zindilis' Commercial showed great desire to win all of the remaining frames to score a 6-1 first leg win.

The 2014/15 Wick & District Pool League season got underway on Monday night as sixteen teams looked to get their campaign off to a winning start. The big match in divsion one saw last years second and third placed teams (Bayview1 & Crown1) go head to head out in Lybster.
Suzanne Carter's Camps Bar "1" team have won the 2014 Wick & District Summer Pool League Championship after defeating last years winners Queens Hotel 8-7 in the final. After four extremely close frames the finalists were tied at 2-2 in the early stages, but Shane Honeyman defeated Scott Risbridger 2-0 to give Camps "1" a 4-2 lead.
Camps Bar "1" and The Queens Hotel booked their place in the 2014 Wick & District Summer Pool League final, after both sides recored 8-7 deciding frame victories over Retro "1" and Camps Bar "2" respectively. Both semi final matches ended in 7-7 draws, so a one frame shootout would decide this seasons finalists.

The Blackstairs Lounge hosted a great weekend of 8 ball pool as fourteen teams battled it out for the fourth annual Bfest Pairs Championships. Teams were drawn into two groups of seven, where two teams from each group would qualify for the semi final stage the next day.

Danny Innes and Ryan Carter got the final underway and both played some great pool, but it was Carter who edged it after escaping two snookers to give the Camps side an early lead.
Bruce Honeyman's Camps2 side have won the Wick & District Pool League division one championship for an eighth time, and their fifth in succession. The Camps Bar side secured the victory they required against Blackstairs to win the closest title race in the pool leagues history.
